About Kimberly

A Vet Student's Home for Doggy Care - Where doggies go on their own holiday! I'm a veterinary medicine student at Edinburgh Uni (Dick Vet). Along with pursuing a career as a veterinarian, I have a passion for caring, interacting & bonding with dogs as individuals. Through my upbringing on a farm & education, I developed a strong love for dogs. I understand that owning a dog is much more than just a responsibility. He/she is a friend, companion, & family member. Through my extensive pre-vet & vet work experience in vet hospitals & boarding kennels and undergoing the intensive vet studies programme & training, I'm highly experienced in canine husbandry; handling; nutrition; 1st aid/intensive & critical care; dog training & behaviour. I’m super comfortable in administering meds; preparing special dietary requirements; caring for injuries/wound management; providing daily dental care/grooming, walks (blocks-miles) by the sea for swims or in parks for ball launching & running!

My husband (Tyler) & I along with our 10 y/o rescue Alsatian (Gretchen) moved to Edinburgh f/USA. Gretchen was then diagnosed (@Dick Vet) with 2 chronic spinal neurological diseases which eventually paralysed both her hind limbs over the span of 1.5 yrs. Therefore, I was Gretchen’s dedicated primary caretaker 24/7 when she had complete back-end mobility & function loss (peacefully let go in 2015). I’m skilled to care for all requiring my full attention day or night (disabled/immobile dogs, geriatric, puppies).

I fully understand the difficulty in finding a trustworthy, reliable dog sitter who is willing to go over & beyond to ensure your dog remains happy & comfortable during your time away. I always enjoy providing the best possible TLC for any loved one even if last-minute or planned in advance. Located at Western Harbour Breakwater (at the seaside expanding into Firth of Forth) next to Newhaven Harbour & Lighthouse Park with loads of pedestrianized areas for loads of running & playing!

Kimberly was really accommodating. She was great with Ishbel and we'd happily leave her with Kimberly again. She kept in touch throughout the week. Ishbel liked her straight away and Kimberly seemed genuinely fond of Ish by the time we picked her up

After a tense start Kimberley made my anxious schnauzer Dave settle perfectly and thoroughly enjoy the rest of his stay. We received photos and messages to reassure us while we were away. Dave is so happy with Kimberley we've already booked him in for another overnight stay.

Kimberly was excellent with Summer. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog with her and she kept us up to date with photos and messages. We would not hesitate to recommend Kimberly for dog sitting.
