Dogs have been a part of my family and my life for as long as I can remember. Now that I am a student at the University of Edinburgh the one thing I miss the most my doggos (sorry family)! Dog-walking is the perfect solution and it would be my pleasure to take your dog out whenever you need. I have put University down as my address as (sadly) this is where I spent most of my time on weekdays - walking your dogs would be a much appreciated escape from the library!
My first dog was a scruffy terrier mutt and he was my best friend growing up. We rescued him when he was a puppy and had been badly abused - it took a lot of care and love to restore his trust in humans. He could be very tricky at times but from him I learnt how to handle difficult dogs; how to read them, how to respect them and most of all that they just need a lot of love!
After Bertie died we rescued a cockerpoo puppy and named him Rufus. Rufus had been rescued from a puppy farm and had had his back paw bitten off by his stressed mother at birth - we do love a lost cause in our family!! It was a joy to raise and train Rufus as he is a very intelligent dog. Last year we got a labrador puppy, Basil - from helping train two young pups I have learnt the importance of consistency, discipline and patience in owning dogs. Even if it does mean resisting the puppy eyes and waggly tails they give you when they've just eaten your favourite pair of shoes!
