Hi there, my name is Juliette and I'm a professional photographer! I've always loved dogs and grew up with a darling Dachshund called Toffee. We were very close and I had him from ages 12 to 21, a tough time in life, no doubt!
I currently do dog sitting and house sitting from time to time with two gorgeous old yellow labs named Charlie and Bella, and have been with them since August 2014. I love them dearly and it's always such a pleasure to see them again. Often for week-long stays at their house while the owners are away. Being age 9 and 12, they are getting on now, and I'm confident in my care for them, monitoring their behaviour, administering medicines when appropriate and preventing them from eating bark and sticks in the gardens!
A few months ago Charlie suddenly was feeling poorly, but responsive. After a few hours of this behaviour and no obvious reasons I took him to the 24 hour emergency vet just in case. While there he was examined and given x-rays and later exploratory surgery to the abdomen, which the owners gave the okay for. Rest assured that the owners called back in the morning to let me know I had actually saved his life! He had a burst tumor in his stomach that was not even known about, it was such a relief to have good news after a stressful and harrowing night. The owners were certain that he would have passed away had he been staying in a kennel.
I'm so passionate about dogs and they really lift me up and give me pure happiness in a way that nothing else can (I'm sure you know exactly what I mean)!
