My husband and I have often looked after family and friends dogs when they go on holiday and so decided to open our home to dogs who are looking for a place to stay. We have a young springer spaniel called Ozzy who just loves other animals and is very welcoming.
We have a completely enclosed garden and I work from home so we can offer a safe home-from-home with lots of attention and plenty of walkies! Our favourite nearby walks are the Haddington to East Linton river walk, hills around Haddington, Butterdean Wood, and Yellowcraig beach.
I've been around dogs my whole life, and am particularly experienced in owning and training springer spaniels.
We also have a cat, who thinks he's a dog and is happy with most canine guests! He does tend to hide away at first if there is an unfamiliar dog in the house but I find they get used to each other fairly quickly.
Our spaniel requires a lot of exercise so we do go for some very long walks. Because of that we are only able to accept dogs who require a similar level of exercise, and are sorry that we are not able to accept some small breeds, and older dogs.
