About Mary-Louise

We are a married couple who work from home. We are home all day, so we are always with our (and by extension YOUR) dogs. We've two dogs of our own and no children, so our dogs do double duty.

Both of us have owned dogs all of our lives, and we simply could not imagine a home without at least two to greet us in the morning and whenever we walk through the front door. We have lived with all sorts of dogs, from standard poodles to Yorkshire terriers and every sort and size in between, and we have loved all of them through every stage of life, from the zaniest, bounciest part of puppyhood, to the heart-breaking decline of old age.

All of our dogs have lived to great age (one got to 18). We like to think that is because we treat them with love and tenderness, exercising them often and NOT over-feeding them! We have a detached house in Putney with a sizeable garden which is completely fenced in and secure. We are a five minute walk from Putney Heath, and we regularly walk in Richmond Park. If your dog is house trained and not too stinky (You know who you are!), we'd love to have him or her come and stay. He or she will be loved as we love our own.

AS A COURTESY TO SLIGHTLY OCD ME, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG & HIS BEDDING IS CLEAN WHEN YOU DROP OFF. STINKY DOGS AND BEDS ARE YUCKY &WILL NOT INCUR GOODWILL

PLEASE NOTE: We charge £35.00 for each 24 hour period or overnight. IF YOUR DOG IS NOT YET FULLY HOUSE TRAINED, WE MUST ASK £45 PER NIGHT (£30 for EACH ADDITIONAL DOG) FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. If you wish to collect your dog more than four (4) hours after the 24 hour period, we will charge you £20.00 for the day for the first dog and £15 for each additional dog, so if you collect your pal the following day before 1pm, you will only be charged £35.00. After that, it's £50. Please be mindful that we have a life too, so do try to be punctual. Drop off before 9am by pre-arrangement only. No collections after 9pm please, unless there's a REALLY good story.

What a pleasure it is to have Lily come to stay. She is such a character, and she grows more affectionate with each visit. We love the fact that Lily comes running in the front door to see us on arrival, tail up and wagging :-). Every morning when she thinks we might be awake, just before dawn, she will sneak to the side of our bed and nudge whoever's arm is extending off of the side. This morning it was I who found my hand resting on her head. During this visit, we discovered Lily is an ace ball player, capable of leaping tall people in a single bound. We shall build on her technique next time. In the meantime, we shall miss her and we look forward to her next visit.

Lottie is an angel 😇 and we loved having her with us. She certainly enjoyed all of the male attention and got Dudley and Bertie moving on those cold winter mornings. Demanding? Actually, it is I who demand to be cuddled in the morning and Lottie was my cuddle slave during her stay. 😊

Fantastic all the way. Joe loved his stay and was cared for with love, lots of excercise and treats. I got updated with pictures and videos and never felt left out. Can only highly recommend Mary-Louise! Thanks a million!

What a pleasure it was to have Joe in our home for Christmas. He, along with Ray the Cocker Spaniel, Lily the Lab, Bilbo the Border Terrier, and Albert the Whippet made our holiday a joy with nary a dull moment throughout. Joe is one of those dogs you just can't help but love on sight, with his gorgeous big, sad eyes and naughty sense of humour. And what talent! He is the only canine guest we have had to date who can open doors! No sooner had I put our guests away safely in a room whilst I opened the front door one day than I had the lot legging it to the outside - freed by Jailbreak Joe! He kept us laughing all through Christmas, and even managed to creep into bed with us (at his size, no mean feat!) for the occasional cuddle. How we giggled on New Years' morning at the contents of his bed: an empty jar of caviar- licked scrupulously clean, an empty container of creme fraiche, and the wrapper from our blinis. What a night he had! :-) How we all miss him now that he has gone home. Come back soon, Joe!
