About Mary-Louise

We are a married couple who work from home. We are home all day, so we are always with our (and by extension YOUR) dogs. We've two dogs of our own and no children, so our dogs do double duty.

Both of us have owned dogs all of our lives, and we simply could not imagine a home without at least two to greet us in the morning and whenever we walk through the front door. We have lived with all sorts of dogs, from standard poodles to Yorkshire terriers and every sort and size in between, and we have loved all of them through every stage of life, from the zaniest, bounciest part of puppyhood, to the heart-breaking decline of old age.

All of our dogs have lived to great age (one got to 18). We like to think that is because we treat them with love and tenderness, exercising them often and NOT over-feeding them! We have a detached house in Putney with a sizeable garden which is completely fenced in and secure. We are a five minute walk from Putney Heath, and we regularly walk in Richmond Park. If your dog is house trained and not too stinky (You know who you are!), we'd love to have him or her come and stay. He or she will be loved as we love our own.

PLEASE NOTE: We charge £35.00 for each 24 hour period or overnight. IF YOUR DOG IS NOT YET FULLY HOUSE TRAINED, WE MUST ASK £45 PER NIGHT (£30 for EACH ADDITIONAL DOG) FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. If you wish to collect your dog more than four (4) hours after the 24 hour period, we will charge you £20.00 for the day for the first dog and £15 for each additional dog, so if you collect your pal the following day before 1pm, you will only be charged £35.00. After that, it's £50. Please be mindful that we have a life too, so do try to be punctual. Drop off before 9am by pre-arrangement only. No collections after 9pm please, unless there's a REALLY good story.

Always a great experience for Joe our Labrador and us. Joe loves every minute with Mary Louise and her dogs and we have the piece of mind that there is nowhere better for Joe to stay. A home from home.

This month I had my 2 grown Labradors Happy and Friday stay with Mary-Louise. Mary was happy to meet and get to know me and the dogs before I made a decision on leaving them with her. During their stay, she was super responsive to any questions and inquiries and proactively send me pictures and updates of my two "little" ones. Having lived in London for over 4 years and having tried my fair share of carers, I can without question say that my dogs and I are super happy with Mary. Happy and Friday came back home in good health, clean and happily exhausted from playing. Definitely will have them stay again with Mary.

Happy and Friday rank among our favourite doggie guests. We really enjoyed their company and Bertie in particular was quite put out when they left. No one to tug on the other end of his towel ☹️.. Despite a couple of interesting attempts to carpet my home with shredded paper towel, they didn't put a paw wrong and they are welcome back any time.

What a pleasure it is to have Lily come to stay. She is such a character, and she grows more affectionate with each visit. We love the fact that Lily comes running in the front door to see us on arrival, tail up and wagging :-). Every morning when she thinks we might be awake, just before dawn, she will sneak to the side of our bed and nudge whoever's arm is extending off of the side. This morning it was I who found my hand resting on her head. During this visit, we discovered Lily is an ace ball player, capable of leaping tall people in a single bound. We shall build on her technique next time. In the meantime, we shall miss her and we look forward to her next visit.
