About Mary-Louise

We are a married couple who work from home. We are home all day, so we are always with our (and by extension YOUR) dogs. We've two dogs of our own and no children, so our dogs do double duty.

Both of us have owned dogs all of our lives, and we simply could not imagine a home without at least two to greet us in the morning and whenever we walk through the front door. We have lived with all sorts of dogs, from standard poodles to Yorkshire terriers and every sort and size in between, and we have loved all of them through every stage of life, from the zaniest, bounciest part of puppyhood, to the heart-breaking decline of old age.

All of our dogs have lived to great age (one got to 18). We like to think that is because we treat them with love and tenderness, exercising them often and NOT over-feeding them! We have a detached house in Putney with a sizeable garden which is completely fenced in and secure. We are a five minute walk from Putney Heath, and we regularly walk in Richmond Park. If your dog is house trained and not too stinky (You know who you are!), we'd love to have him or her come and stay. He or she will be loved as we love our own.

AS A COURTESY TO SLIGHTLY OCD ME, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG & HIS BEDDING IS CLEAN WHEN YOU DROP OFF. STINKY DOGS AND BEDS ARE YUCKY &WILL NOT INCUR GOODWILL

PLEASE NOTE: We charge £35.00 for each 24 hour period or overnight. IF YOUR DOG IS NOT YET FULLY HOUSE TRAINED, WE MUST ASK £45 PER NIGHT (£30 for EACH ADDITIONAL DOG) FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. If you wish to collect your dog more than four (4) hours after the 24 hour period, we will charge you £20.00 for the day for the first dog and £15 for each additional dog, so if you collect your pal the following day before 1pm, you will only be charged £35.00. After that, it's £50. Please be mindful that we have a life too, so do try to be punctual. Drop off before 9am by pre-arrangement only. No collections after 9pm please, unless there's a REALLY good story.

So happy we found Mary Louise & Wynyard! Lenny adores them along with his new big brothers Dudley & Bertie who are teaching him the ropes. Lenny is so at home here and gets so excited when we turn the corner onto their road. Thank you so much for taking great care of our little fur baby! :)

We are establishing a special Lenny corner in our house, as he already occupies so much space in our hearts. We look forward to his every arrival and dread his every departure.

I just picked up my 10 month old Cockapoo (Harry) for Mary-Louise and I cannot recommend this amazing couple enough. I know Harry loved it there as he kept tapping my hand in the car as we left to come home, which is his usual way off telling me we left the park too early and that he wants to stay some more :-) .More than just dog owners and lovers they are also incredibly lovely people that help me out, as a total stranger at the time, and kept me up to date with how he was doing with updates and photos. The only dog boarding I will use from now on!

We look after other people's dogs for two equally important reasons: One: We love dogs. They feed our souls and inspire us with their innate mastery of life as it should be lived - with enthusiasm, order, and fully in the moment. We humans have a lot to learn from them. Two: Sometimes life throws too much our way and it isn't until you get to 'a certain age' that you recognise (even in a Dog Buddy request) when someone needs a hand - no matter who they are or how well you know them. Looking after dogs brings us into contact with people who we would otherwise never have met. After only a few months doing this, we have made friends of as many shapes and sizes as the dogs they bring us. We were able to look after fabulous, bouncy, wizard-smart Harry at the last moment, which allowed us to feel that we were helping Patrick out - albeit in a very small way - in a crisis. A win-win situation, as it feels good for us too :-)

I knew straight away that Betty would settle in with Mary- Louise and Wynward! it seems she made herself at home straight away in their home. It seems she has made a good impression and she would love to return for another stay soon thanks from us both

Behind that demure little facade (now one of our photos in the listing) is a lively, spirited little creature who is FULL of character. We completely enjoyed having Betty to stay. As Diane mentioned, she just fell in with the rest of us, and became a member of the family instantly. How we miss hearing her sweet, gentle snuffles in the night, as she snoozed away in Dudley's bed. :-)
