Stephen was fantastic before, during and after booking with DogBuddy. We spoke over the phone about my Boston Terrier Samantha, we spoke after I had booked and before she stayed with Stephen and he sent pictures and videos via WhatsApp during her 12 day stay over Christmas. Stephen is fantastic with dogs and even taught me a few tricks while I was visiting him. He really understands dogs and, I think as importantly, dog owners! I would really recommend his service :)

I left my Maaya, my 6 year old Rottweiler with Stephen for 39 days over the summer and the transformation that she underwent was nothing short of astounding. I’ve had her since she was a puppy and am naturally inclined to be very protective over her. I searched far and wide for a boarding kennel and other carers but I wasn’t satisfied with any of them. Then I came across Stephens profile on Dog buddy and it just gave me the right sort of energy that encouraged me to contact him. He invited Maaya and myself to come over the same day to assess her and I must say they hit it off straight away! He was very blunt with his assessment and told me that Maaya is a very happy dog but she’s a bit on the large side. He showed me around his facility/ Home and introduced me to his two boys and wife, who are such great people! By that point, I was already sold on the idea of leaving Maaya with Stephen. Maaya developed some hotspots a few days before her arrival at Stephens, so I took her to the vet and they prescribed some antibiotics and steroids to suppress the itchiness and oozing from the wounds although they couldn’t explain to me the reason behind it. I informed Stephen of the situation and he assured me that she’d be alright. Stephen was giving me regular updates through Whatsapp/Texts/Dog Buddy/Facebook and even sent me some videos and pictures, which really settled us while abroad. 39 days later I went to pick her up and she was a new dog! She had lost weight, looked stronger/leaner, had more energy and more importantly she was HAPPY! I had no words to describe the transformation. First and foremost, Maaya’s hot spots had vanished and it was because her liver was releasing toxins back into the blood. He told me what the vets couldn’t. Stephen made some diet modifications and converted her from a rice and curry eating Sri-Lankan dog into a healthy, energetic dog on a raw food diet (Something I’ve been trying to do for 2 years!). He’s increased her lifespan by 2+ years. Need I say more? Stephen wants to save dog’s lives and more importantly save people a lot of money. His parting words were: ‘You are what you eat, your dog is what she eats and with love, care and knowledge, your dog will be as healthy as you want her to be’ and I will continue to follow that motto. Once Stephen gets his qualifications and gets his clinic up and going, his ambition is to save dogs lives and I’m pretty sure he will position himself right at the top of his profession.
