About Neal and Pauline
Neal is a freelance cartographer and works part-time, from home. Pauline is a teacher and works 4 days a week at a local school. We have 4 children, the youngest is 6 and the eldest is 13.
We have always had close contact with dogs and other animals - Pauline’s grandparents had a Westie dog and Neal's family used to have a small farm with various animals such as donkeys, hens and cows as well as a family pet cat. Two of our siblings have dogs. We have looked after friends’ dogs and we all enjoy spending time with dogs and taking them on long walks. Neal and our eldest daughter spent some time helping out at a dog-rescue shelter in Spain, last summer.
We would be willing to look after different types of dogs, if they are familiar and friendly with children. Your dog will be given lots of walks, cuddles and attention from all of us. The children enjoy throwing balls for the dog, if he/she enjoys playing fetch, or spending some quiet time stroking and cuddling.
We live a minute walk away from Verulamium Park, in St Albans. We are also close to River Ver, Clarence Park, Bernards Heath and Heartwood Forest (via car). We have a good-sized garden which is securely fenced and safe.
Due to the flexibility of our part-time jobs, there is always someone around, at our house and your dogs will not be left alone for extended periods of time (more than an hour). Your dog will be fed at times specified by you, with your own food and instructions. There will always be a bowl of fresh water in our house.
We are licensed by St Albans City and District Council for Home Dog Boarding. For overnight boarding, we will only look after dogs from a single household.
