About Wendie

I adore dogs. Our beloved family dog of 15 years passed and the house is empty without her. Not ready for another dog but would love to have a dog around to fuss over and walk. Secure family house with enclosed garden and park and common are close for long walks. Dog day care will include a walk, off lead for well behaved dogs in all weather. We have a heated kitchen floor which was always welcome to sleep on by our dog, large family room and reception room for exploring. Stairs to house and garden so dog must be able to climb stairs. Estate car for transport to common for walks with cargo net barrier for dog's safety to stay in the back.
I miss my dog, so would love to share some love with yours. All types welcome as long as they are house trained and follow the command to come. I do have strict policy of no dogs on furniture or beds, so if you feel this would be too confusing for your dog then maybe consider someone else.
I am often asked if there are other dogs here. I consider myself the difference between sending your dog to "day care" and having a nanny. I only look after one dog at a time, unless they are from the same household. I am not a kennel, your dog is a guest in my house and part of the family. Your dog is going to be upset to be away from its family and "pack" To put it with another dog whom is in the same situation isn't fair to the animals and quite stressful for them, often leading to uncharacteristic behaviour as they try to work out where they fit. Your dog(s) have my full attention.

I am so happy to have found Wendie! From start (when she invited us for a pre-visit & made sure to find out all about Thandi & her needs) to the end (when I collected Thandi & Wendie gave me a full debrief and even recommended a new toy that Thandi loved playing with) Wendie was knowledgable and totally trustworthy. She obviously loves dogs and although Thandi can be anxious when I leave her, I wouldn’t hesitate in asking Wendie to look after her again. Thanks Wendie!

It was my pleasure, such a sweet little girl who definitely loves her mum and was upset being left at her "first day of school". She settled down beautifully and was a cuddly energetic ball of fun. We loved having her and thanks for picking me. She's welcome back anytime

Please no-one else book Wendie so Draper can spend every holiday with her! The most caring, pleasant and genuine person I've met in this capacity, and the first one who I've felt comfortable enough to leave our puppy with. Wendie's love of dogs shines through and Draper had the best day. Thank you Wendie - see you Friday!

Such a sweetheart and what a lovely boy. Gorgeous dog, well behaved, obedient, and full of energy. He was a delight to have and I can't wait to look after him again! Thank you for picking me and letting me shed a lot of love on your beautiful puppy!

Wendie is the first carer I’ve even considered for Trey. The web profile looked right, an introductory visit impressed me. Yesterday he returned from his first stay (and not, I hope, his last). I enjoyed three dogless days without a worry – only a chuckle or two when Wendie’s settling-in report arrived. Meanwhile, Trey, it seems, was having every idiosyncrasy catered for. I appreciate, not just the time Wendie devoted – there were a lot of walks! – but also the thought that went into tailoring care to Trey’s needs. Thank you, Wendie, from both of us!

I have a book on my coffee table titled, "Why Dogs do That." It's an amusing book theorising on animal behaviour in dogs. Well I think Trey could have his own chapter. He is a lovely gentle giant who kept me and my friends who were here amused and bemused with his quirky behaviour. Lots of giggles and "why is he doing that?" in a nice way. I've never seen such antics, and I have looked after a dog that climbed trees! He is a character and I thoroughly enjoyed having him. Thank you for letting me enjoy him.
