1. Background checks

We use a number of sophisticated verification solutions to validate the sitters. Every listing with a confirmed address is clearly marked as such.

2. Application process

The application process is designed to assess the applicant's dog experience and knowledge, as well as establish that the environment is suitable for the hosting of dogs.

3. Profile quality

Every listing has been manually approved by our vetting team. We look for a detailed listing with lots of photos showing that the sitter is dedicated to DogBuddy.

4. Meet and Greet

We advise all dog owners to have a Meet and Greet prior to the service, in order to make sure everyone gets along well, understand more about the sitter and the new temporary home where your dog will be staying.

5. Reviews

Reading reviews from other dog owners is a great way to learn about the experience of other dogs and dog owners.

Sitter Credentials

We encourage dog owners to look for credentials on the dog sitters’ listings.

A listing will indicate:

  • If they passed the assessment
  • If they have provided proof of address
  • If they have been approved by DogBuddy
  • No. of completed bookings on DogBuddy
  • Response rate: how quickly they respond to requests
  • Reviews from other dog owners
